I only recently stumbled upon this one-year old beautiful Villalobos remix. We don’t have the dry-clean Villalobos at work here, but the soulful, jazzy, dare I say Chilean?, Villalobos at work. Niceness. Or, as a German youtube user comments: “supergeile scheibe”! Doesn’t that sound sexy?
An incredible track by London’s Floating Points dating back a year or so. It’s not fresh of the presses, but it sure as hell sounds fresh as ever. Originally released with a male vocal, this extended dub version just sounds so much better without the vocal. It’s rich and colourful housy melody just gives you that instant feel-good. I just can’t help but smile when I hear this.
Roska released his debut album last week, and it’s filled with kicks & snares, soul and bass. I really like all tracks, the album is modest, and a perfect balance between beats and bass. There are a lot of tracks out on YouTube, but this is maybe one of my favourites. Purrrfect flow!
Good morning, yes ma’am. The opening track of Karizma‘s album ‘A Mind Of It’s Own v2‘ gets a dedicated EP on R2 recordings. ‘Good Morning’ features Monique Bingham and gets the refix by Yoruba Soul. I thought it was a bit too cheesy, so I didn’t post it. I think ‘Groove A’k'ordingly’ is the best track out of 4, it’s a nice housy roller. Groovy!
If you start to think we are addicted to Floating Points, you’re right. This should be our x-th post with a new track or remix by this young bloke. The quality and flow he brings is everytime on point. This time he remixes the fantastic ‘Sing’ by Four Tet (check the original in an older post). It’s housey, it’s atmospheric, and it’s vvery danceable. That’s why we’re addicted.
New release on Berlin’s mysterious EQD label. Dirty and funky tech-house banger, that keeps on going. And it’s therefore at non-stop replay at Worlds Below HQ. Killer!

Bukarest guy TRG released a new EP on Tempa. The six tracks have more UKFunky / house flavour than I’m used from him. ‘Purple Lights’ is the track I like the most, with a repetitive and funky lead melody over fresh beats. Top!

Recently featured on Fabric’s Elevator Music volume 1 with the bass-heavy tune “If that’s how I feel”, Hot City‘s pushing out some nice bass-driven housy tracks. This one, Hot City Bass, was released last year on Ramp recordings, but it still sounds killer to me.
On a side note, I just found out I missed Hot City passing through Antwerp this weekend alongside Drop The Lime, anyone catch it?
DFRNT is on a roll. I hear a bit of Joy Orbison in this track (the opening pads!), but the second drop is pure bliss.
