Teebs & Jackhigh – Comes to Mind

From Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder’s camp, Teebs (LA) & Jackhigh (UK) have just issued a nice EP for the Svetlana Industries imprint. Boomkat is right when it says that there’s no shortage of ideas and excellent execution on ‘The Tropics EP’, which includes 7 tracks that range from sweetly melodic yet turbulent dream-hop sequences through to submerged experiments with what sounds like a kalimba played by mermaids in a Caribbean lagoon. ‘Comes to mind’ is the track that dives deep into this lagoon. Loving the smoked out, dubby and deeeeeep vibe in this one.

    Jon Phonics – Chipfunk

When I was in London two weeks ago I stumbled upon a free 28-track instrumental album showcasing beats of Jon Phonics. I had never heard of this UK producer before, gave it a shot and was quite surprised to hear after a funky intro of 25 seconds this absolutely massive spaced out Dilla/FlyLo banger coming out of my speakers. The rest of the album is as good. A great discovery and I warmly recommend you to check out the album. Top notch!!

Andreya Triana – Lost Where I belong (Flying Lotus remix)

After ‘Tea Leaf Dancer’, Miss Triana and Sir FlyLo team up again. The track has a warm chaotic feel due to the typical Flying Lotus spacebeats and filter madness.

    José James – Code

José James and Flying Lotus team up for this new lovely single from James’s new album ‘Blackmagic‘, released earlier this month. The production by FlyLo is not that experimental as on his album ‘Los Angeles’, but backs James’s sweet soft sould voice&lyrics. Perfect for a Sunday.
