Kontext has lowered the drum&bass-bpm-counter, so this track floats somewhere between drum’n'bass and fast electro. Piano chords are perfectly delayed and reverberated, which gives the track a spaced out character. Heavy stuff!

Dark Arx is a label from London, trying to bridge the gap between dubtechno and UK garage. Expect the subtleness of Berlin combined with the ravier London street sounds. The result is a refreshing and well crafted tune. Recommended!

Released on Sandwell District, praised by Resident Advisor as the best techno label in the world, this Silent Servant track from 2008 really hits home. Kalon, a UK techno outfit, stepped away from the moody original and produced a driving techno track with a definite club vibe to it.

Dubatech is completely unknown to me, but I came across this track and I really loved it. Floating stabs, echoes of cold winter nights and a firm 4/4 beat are combined in this icy track ‘Nonagon’. Good to close 2009, and start 2010.
Aaaah, new Sigha on Hot Flush, always a pleasure. I met this guy in the Blackmarket shop in the beginning of 2009, when he just released his first 12″ on Hot Flush. “Rawww” is his third on Hot Flush, and I’ve been digging the diversity of his releases. “Rawww” is the best sound you can hear in dubtechno at this moment. It’s funky, it’s dreamy. Just our style!

First heard this one on DFRNT‘s Sonic Router mix. Ravey dubstep-aka-house track by Myrkur. It’s uplifting, yet introvert. The bass is whoopwhooping and the ravey leadsynth takes you back to the early nineties. A mixture of past and future, a perfect showcase of the sound of NOW!
