Cold Mission – Dreamers
Manix and Dego worked under the disguise of Cold Mission (which is one one of their monikers, 4Hero, Jacob’s Optical Stairway and Tek9 sound maybe more familiar) somewhere between 1994 and 1996. Reinforced (god, what a legendary label!) made a compilation from the few Cold Mission 12″s that were floating around in that time. Expect rattling amen-breaks and washing atmospheric synthlines. Ruff!
Album ‘Blow The Circuit’ is now for sale at boomkat!

dBridge, Instra:Mental & Skream – Acacia Avenue
With this trio teaming up, what else can you expect than darkness, experimental sounds and stripped down beats? The main line reminds me of eighties new wave, or of a track from Aphex’ ambient collection. Obscure and special, check it out.

Peshay – On The Nile
Essential records in your life. Everybody has some of them, and all are very personal, all have a story. Every time I play ‘On The Nile’ by Peshay, I read the same story in my mind, I see the setting, I hear the actors and feel the mood. My story is about hearing something totally different than what I’ve heard before. About putting the needle on a record for the very first time. The mood is warm, exciting, sheer pleasure. The actor is my brother. He bought my defining record somewhere in 1997. Time to thank him for that, I guess

Kmag Sonorous Mix (feat. Whizz & Daze)
This just goes to show how much we (Whizz & Daze) have been out of the DnB news loop. Apparently, Sonorous music, home to a few or our releases, was featured in Kmag in Dec 2009 with a guest mix (feat. Whizz & Daze) and interview. Check the interview and tracklisting after the Soundcloud link.

Seba & Lotek – So Long
I can not express how much I love this song, and how many times I’ve put it on my turntable. It’s Seba‘s first release (1996), and it appeared on Bukem‘s Looking Good label. The track is over ten minutes, and has several mood changes. Along the track, new sounds are gradually added in a very subtle way (the Amen-break, the bass, new melodies), and in this way you are guided slowly into Seba’s dreamy story. Mmmmm, take your time.

Photek – Rings Around Saturn
Rings Around Saturn is without any doubt my favourite Photek tune. The sweetness of the rain in the background with the bird’s song, the pads, the bass and the perfect drum programming make this song a delight to listen. Makes me smile everytime I hear it. Classic!!

Consequence – Lost Attack
Upcoming Australian artist Consequence seduced D-Bridge with his dark moody drum’n'bass to release his debut album on Exit Recordings. Lost Attack is one of his earlier tracks. The complex rhythms and epical atmospherics of Lost Attack create a track which could perfectly fit as the soundtrack to an apocaliptical science fiction movie.
