Roni Size – Lucky Pressure
Heard this one back for the first time in a looooong time. Can’t believe it’s almost 10 years old! One of the last good Roni Size tunes imho.

Paperclip People – The Climax
I haven’t dug deep in the Detroit music history yet, that’s next on my to-do list for this year
. However, I still remember this tune featured on an old techno-compilation. ‘The Climax’ takes a while to build-up (hence the title I guess), but it’s ten minutes pure bliss. -

Orbital – The Box
When I heard this song for the first time in 1996 I instantly fell in love with it, and I’m still getting goosebumps when I hear the break in the full version (this is only the second part of The Box). But I bet you didn’t know that the main actress in the clip is Tilda Swinton, whom I just saw on DVD in the excellent ‘Michael Clayton‘.

Technasia – Force
Perhaps the best tune from this legendary techno outfit. Already dating back 10 years, this tune still sounds as heavy as it did then: a rolling chord monster! Enjoy the non-vocal version below. Switch to 480p for better sound quality!

killer tune! This totally defines the sound of parties around the time I was allowed to go clubbing
I’ve always loved this kind of techno and I still loathe the harder minimal approach it took soon after
But this track is just MADNESS!!!
Great post!

Calibre feat. Diane Charlemagne – Bullets
I went through my collection of Calibre vinyls. It’s been two or three years since I bought any drum’n'bass, let alone something from Calibre. Hearing all his tunes back, I think ‘Bullets’ really sticks out (and the guy has made tens of true gems). The sadness, the melancholy, the atmosphere, the melody, the pace, everything is so perfect. What a f*cking classic tune!
