New release on Berlin’s mysterious EQD label. Dirty and funky tech-house banger, that keeps on going. And it’s therefore at non-stop replay at Worlds Below HQ. Killer!

Playhouse reprints the ‘number one’ album of the last decade (according to Resident Advisor): ‘Alcachofa’ by Ricardo Villalobos. ‘Dexter’ was one of the tracks that brought me more into the slower bpm spectrum of electronic music (I was quite an adept of 165+ bpm music). A well deserved winner of that poll, what an album.
‘Nouvelle Histoire’ by Von-D, check it out. It sounds like if Ramadanman would do a ‘Logical Progression’ session back to back with Martyn. Pure bliss!

Fact magazine premiers the first video for Scuba’s new album Triangulation (watch another track from this album here). ‘Before’ shows how diversified we can expect ‘Triangulation’ to be. Forget dubtechno, this will be pure Scuba. We can’t wait to get our hands on that album!
Catch him @ Vooruit alongside 2562 and Untold this Friday, and say hi to the Worlds Below crew
Put on your headphones for this one. The details in this track are so lovely you need to hear them fully concentrated. ‘Yulquen’ featured on Autechre’s album ‘Amber’ from 1994, and is my favourite track of that album. Again, melancholy is the main emotion here, like in most of my favourite music.
Somebody should make a nice video for this track, it’s made for some visuals!
Distance’s classic track ‘Fallen’ (listen here) got the remix from Vex’d on Planet Mu. Those triggered vocals and the reverb on the snare give the track a haunting atmosphere, but near the end fresh pads announce a moodchange. Before the moodchange comes into full effect the track finishes. Twisted and brilliant stuff.
Released last month, available at boomkat of course!
No introduction needed for drum’n'bass classic ‘Mutant Jazz’. Sax, panflutes, pads and snare-melodies are the perfect setting for late summer evenings.
And yes, this featured as well on the brilliant compilation Freezone 2 by DJ Morpheus from Brussels (check his bio, Morpheus has a serious musical history!).
Breakage remixes ‘Paradise Circus’, the first single of Massive Attack’s new album ‘Heligoland’. What already was a beautiful song, has been edited by the bass-meister. The track has been stripped down till only the vocal remains. The piano returns in the break, and a suprising extra layer of drums adds speed to the second part of the track after the break.
But which remix to choose if you also have a fantastic Gui Boratto remix!?
LV & Untold – Beacon (Mount Kimbie remix)
Superb well crafted remix by Mount Kimbie for LV & Untold. Rattling drums, cut-up vocals and a reverbed-down housey synth loop makes this track a melting pot of twisted and pleasant sounds. Lovely!
Will be released any time soon (next week I thought?) on Untold’s Hemlock label, so order your copy at boomkat.
